Today we were stopped by Quebec Provincial Police. It was a female officer and she advised us that there had been some calls about us being on the highway. We advised the officer (in English) that we had contacted the police in Quebec and had not heard back.
Aujourd'hui nous avons été arrêtés par la Sûreté du Québec. C'était une femme officieret elle nous a informé qu'il y avait eu quelques appels à propos de nous être sur l'autoroute. Nous avisé l'agent (en anglais) que nous avions contacté la police au Québec et n'avait pas entendu revenir.
I informed her that I had not only run with some of the officers from other provinces but we had also had escorts with the horses and the motorcycles. She did not seem to have much of a problem with us. She saw we had the proper safety lights on the CRV and that I we were not taking up any of the road. Melissa handed her a brochure on our run and we were off again. Breathing a sigh of relief.
Je lui ai informé que je n'avais pas seulement courir avec certains des agents provenant d'autres provinces, mais nous avions aussi eu des escortes avec les chevaux et les motos. Elle ne semble pas avoir beaucoup d'un problème avec nous. Elle a vu que nous avions les lumières de sécurité appropriées sur le CRV et que je nous ne prenions pasl'un quelconque de la route. Melissa lui remit une brochure sur notre course et nous étions repartis. Poussé un soupir de soulagement.
It all worked out and we were off again. Running down a very flat, very long road hugging the St Lawrence river.
Il tout a parfaitement fonctionné et nous étions repartis. Couler une très plat, très long chemin longeant la rivière St-Laurent.
There was some heavy road work being done. All the road crews and the Department of Transportation were very nice and encouraging. At least I think they were. I don't speak French.
Il y avait quelques travaux routiers lourds se fait. Toutes les équipes de route et le ministère des Transports ont été très gentils et encourageants. Au moins, je pense qu'ils ont été. Je ne parle pas français.
We are staying in camp ground called La Demi-Lieue in Saint Jean Port Joli. It is quite large and if my ankles didnt hurt so much I would probably walk down to the St Lawrence. Well maybe I will after dinner anyway. I have been to the St Lawrence river.
Nous sommes logés dans le sol du camp appelé La Demi-Lieue à Saint Jean Port Joli.Il est assez grand et si mes chevilles n'ont pas fait tellement mal que je serait probablement descendre à Saint-Laurent. Eh bien peut-être je vais tout de même après le dîner. J'ai été à la rivière St-Laurent.
A special shout out to my Uncle Harry!! He is apparently following my blog posts. Harry my ankles are sore but they are holding up. Lot's of stretching and ice. My wife will be joining us soon so I am sure she will give them some of her TLC. Looking forward to going for a run with ya!! Hello to all the Coull's as well. Thanks for being there so much right now. It means allot. So hello Nancy, Adam, and Sue and the kids. I am expecting you all to be up to marathon distance by the time I get there. ;')
